Almost Baby Time

Here is a quick update. I had my 38 week appointment today! Everything seems to be on track! She thinks that the baby is already 7lbs~ which I thought the baby was still really small..but I guess not!! WARNING: Sorry for the picture in your head…BUT, she did her “pelvic” exam and said “Oh, I feel the baby’s head” and I turned and looked at Pat and he said “WHAT?” and looked like he was going to pass out! It was quite hysterical. That means that this baby has already dropped, the head is very low and he/she will be coming soon!! Sooner than we think….I think!! Ahhhh!! Oh well, whatever happens, happens. I just better get my bag packed…TONIGHT!!

The nursery is one thing that I am a little worried about…..Pat is 100% done with his part…he took today off for the carpet guy to come and lay the carpet, WELL the carpet guy called this am and he was SICK! SO, now he will be coming on Sunday….hopefully! So, everything is ready to go into the nursery….but the nursery has NO carpet. Oh geez….ahhhh!! Like I said, OH WELL. Whatever happens, happens!!

Anyway….time to make something for dinner! Have a great night. I will update next week or maybe sooner! :)

Another Week Down….

Another crazy busy week down….a couple more to go!! ;)

The last week was a great one! I had my 37 week appointment and all is well. The heartbeat is now about 138 or so….it has gone down a little bit from all my other appointments. (which is OK, baby is just “settling” a little more). His/Her head is down and his/her feet are right in my ribs!!! Oh well, totally worth it the last couple weeks!

I still feel great! It is amazing to me that I have not had any issues at all! I am so fortunate for that!! Let’s hope labor goes well! I am all in to the “nesting” part again. I don’t know what got into me today…but I washed almost ALL the bibs, burp rags, clothes, blankets…geez. It is crazy!

The nursery is done, well almost. Pat is done with his projects. The carpet guy is coming this week to install the carpet…then we will be able to set up the crib, changing table, rocking chair and ALL the clothes will have a “place” to go!!!! I will definitely post pictures when it is put together!

Last Saturday I had my 2nd baby shower and it was a success! I had a fantastic time with all of Pat’s family and my friends! It was wonderful!! The food was amazing, the games were hilarious and of course the presents were the best!! I am so excited! I think we have everything (well maybe not) that we will need.I am sure when this baby comes I will be making my share of Target runs! :) Especially when I know if it is a boy or girl~ my baby will need pink or blue!!!

Here are some pictures of from the shower…..

Baby Time!!

Spring is here which means BABY TIME!!! On Tuesday 3/30/10 our friends Jacki and Bill had their 1st baby. William Michael was born: 10 lbs 11oz, 23 inches long! We are both SO happy for them and he is a doll!! I went to the hospital to see him and he is so cuddly, it makes me very excited for my own!!

Here is a pic of Billy and me :)

Well, I can officially say I am 9 months pregnant!!! I was 36 weeks on Wednesday…WOW! I can not believe in 1 month I will have a baby in my arms! It makes me smile so big! Even Pat is getting really excited~ he likes to talk to my belly and tell him/her to stop kicking me! It is really cute! I still feel great, I have had very few issues this whole pregnancy, which I am very fortunate for…let’s hope labor and delivery are the same! Yeah right, I think I am dreaming!! Ha-ha. We had our 36 week appt yesterday and all is well. The MD did an exam and said I am not really dilated yet (good thing for me) so he thinks I will be “right on time.” I am OK with that….a few more weeks to prepare! The baby’s heartbeat is still in the upper 140’s low 150’s….this has not changed much in the last 8 months.

Me at 36 weeks

Pat and I visited a day care yesterday also…we are not 100% sure what the plan is for daycare yet, but we did like the place we went to. So, only time will tell on that matter! The nursery is just about complete and so is the stairway/hallway. Pat has to call the carpet guys this week to see when they can come and lay it…then COMPLETE. I have been waiting to say that for awhile!! I am excited to get the crib set up, the changing table in the room, the rocking chair and all the cute onesies in the closet!! My mission this weekend is to find a girl and boy “outfit/sleeper” to take to the hospital with us. I want our little one to have either HOT pink or baby blue on when they come home!!! Oh yeah, I should probably pack a bag for myself and Pat too….

I have definitely been “nesting” the past couple weekends…wow, who knew I had it in me? I CLEANED our closet…I mean CLEANED it! Four bags of clothes will be donated and even some shoes too! WOW, I was very impressed with myself and I think Pat was too!! I also went thru ALL the baby “stuff” that we have gotten so far….organized the clothes, went thru the toys, put all of my “paperwork” from the doctor visits into a binder, bought some baby Dreft so I can wash the clothes….I feel the need to organize and clean! It is a crazy feeling, who knew that would happen to me?! ;) HA-HA! My next mission is when the nursery is done, I want to get everything into that room and organize!!!

My family (mom, dad, Betsy and Abby) have been in Washington DC this whole week for Spring Break (don’t you miss the whole week off in Spring?…that was a bonus of actually being in school) and we have had their dog, Fletcher. The nice thing about having Fletch around is that he keeps Bob company! They wrestle around and bite each other’s ears…it makes good entertainment for Pat and me! We do not have big Easter plans, my family comes back Sunday, so we will head over there for dinner and hear all about their trip…other than that, Pat will be working HARD on the hallway/stairway to get it done!!!

I start my appointments every week from here on out….so I go again next Wednesday. I am having my 2nd shower next weekend at Pat’s mom’s house! I am excited to see everyone! (Including Pat’s grandparents that we have not seen since Christmas!!) That will be a lot of fun!! I love the games…I am sure Cheri has some fun ones planned!

Well, this was a longer entry today…only because I have not updated it in a MONTH! Sorry about that….too busy nesting! :) Hope you have a wonderful Easter weekend and spend time with your family!

Special Day Today....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BETSY!!! That is the first thing I wanted to say!! Betsy is 15 today….which means she will be driving WAY too soon!!! AHHH!!! We love you Betsy and Happy Birthday!!

I feel like I say this every time…but man, time flies…Geez, only 7 weeks to go!!! The last couple weeks have been great! I had my 32 week appointment last Wednesday and all is well. I am measuring at 33 weeks (which is OK) and the heartbeat was at 148! So, all is well there!!! Only 7 weeks to go....did I already say that?

I had my 1st baby shower on Saturday and it was AMAZING! Everyone who came was so generous and I am very thankful to have each of them in my life! It was really fun to play the baby games…I was not very good at them!! Oh well, I guess I will learn :)
I got about 20 packs of diapers and 2 diaper cakes. My sisters made one cake with about 500 diapers and my friends Lisa and Amanda made another one…YAY! Diapers galore!! Here are a few pics from the shower...

HOLY BELLY

The Nursery….well, it is coming along….the actual nursery is pretty much complete (with out the carpet) but in order to get the carpet, the hallway and stairway have to be done! So, that is the big project this week. Pat has been working very hard after work to accomplish anything he can. I am so thankful for that! Downfall, I actually have to make dinner. Oh well, I do OK especially when it is grilled cheese and tomato soup!! YUM-O

That is all for now….Pat’s parents are coming again this weekend to help Pat upstairs – which is so nice! I have another appt next Wednesday (St. Patrick’s Day) Hope the update is good.

PS. I think I am starting to waddle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Crazy Busy!~

It has been a crazy busy couple of weeks! First of all, I want to say CONGRATULATIONS to my friend Michelle and her husband Aaron!! They had their first baby boy on Monday the 8th! Lars Aaron was born 7lbs 15.5 oz and 21 inches long, very healthy little man!! The pictures are adorable; I can not wait to meet him in person! Congrats Michelle and Aaron!!

Pat’s parents were here Valentine’s weekend. Brad and Pat worked hard in the nursery all weekend…the sheetrock is up, the mudding and taping is done and most of the sanding is complete! Pat has been up there every night this week with the final touches and plans to prime and texture the walls this weekend! It is a process but I see progress!! While the boys were working on the nursery, Cheri and I went fabric shopping! It was a lot of fun, we saw a lot of boy or girl fabric, the neutral fabric was a lot harder to find! We did end up finding some adorable fabric at JoAnn Fabrics…we are going with the animal theme. It is really cute, little lions, tigers, monkeys, elephants….just adorable. If the little one comes out a girl, we will just have to add pink bows on the animal’s heads! :)

Sunday was Valentine’s Day…we all went and saw the movie Valentine’s Day, it was a very cute movie with a lot of big names in it. It was a “feel good” movie!!~ The boys even liked it!! Sunday night we had awesome steaks and baked potatoes for dinner…it was a great Valentine’s Day!! Hope everyone had a great day also; did you kiss your sweetie?

Monday I had my 30 week (YEAH! 30 week!! WOW- 10 weeks to go!!!!) appointment. Pat’s parents stayed in town Sunday night so Cheri could attend the appointment with me! The heartbeat is still in the 150’s (which is good) and this time she thought the butt was down….last time she thought the head was down…but the baby still has plenty of time to roll around in there!! The baby is approx 3 lbs this week and 15 ½ inches long! WOW! Cheri loved hearing the heartbeat, it is pretty cool!! My next appointment is March 3rd !

It will be an exciting weekend for us, my god-daughter Bella will be in town with JoDee and Brad! I can not wait to see Bella…she is almost walking!! YAY! We will see how Bob reacts to a 1 year old all over him~ oh geez. I see the jealously starting already….have a great weekend and remember only 66 days left!!!

2/3 Down, 1/3 To Go!!!

Wow, time sure flies these days! Only 83 days to go….and I will be a mommy!! Geez, I can not believe that I am already in my 3rd trimester…I feel like I was just posting my 1st blog a couple weeks ago! I am still feeling great! I have not had any issues to date. Besides the fact that I don’t sleep -- Oh well, it is just preparing me for baby! I had my 28 week appointment yesterday and everything looks good! She was feeling around my belly and she thinks that the baby’s head is already down. She was not 100%, but she thinks that is where it is. The heartbeat was still in the 150’s which is perfect! Over the last couple weeks I have been feeling A LOT of movement. It is crazy; it is like the baby is ready to come out…just kick, kick, punch, kick. That is all our little person is doing lately! Anytime I sit down to relax or when I am at my desk I just start giggling…cus the little bugger is so active! It is a good feeling for me, because I can feel him/her all the time!!! :)

Here are a couple pics of me…I tend to wear a lot of black….just to hid my ever so growing belly…so you can barley see it…but this is all you get for now ~

Can you tell how excited Bob is?!? Yeah, right!

Pat has been working hard on the nursery the last few weekends…I know it does not look like much at the moment…but I see a lot of progress! His 1st big project was to work on the closet, he had to take the shelves out that were already in there and put up brand new sheetrock. He also had to re-do the window, so it was a legal bedroom. I am so ready for him to be done with this part so, a. not so much dust around the WHOLE house and b. so I can start my decorating (or lack there of) process!!! So the next step for me is to find a fabric that I like and is easy to work with! If anyone sees an older rocking chair, please let me know….I‘m on the search for one!

Hopefully the after pictures will be up sooner than later :)

My next appointment is only 2 weeks away….I am will be going to the MD every two weeks for awhile, then I start my one week appointments!!!! Like I said before...time is sure going by FAST!

Welcome 2010!~

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!

Hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas and New Year!! We sure did! It is a crazy busy time of year and we always manage to fit everything in!! Even with the not so good weather, we did just fine. Spent Christmas Eve with Pat’s family and Christmas Day with mine! It was great to see everyone! My aunt and uncle were here from New Mexico…it is always fun to see them every couple years~

This week I had my 24 week appointment!! I can not believe that I am 6 months pregnant!! Holy man, time flies!! My good friend Connie and her daughter Hailey came with me to this appointment. The appointment went very well. I am measuring “normal” (whatever normal is now :) ) the baby’s heartbeat is in the 140s, and I still feel great! No issues at all!!! It was very interesting for Hailey to be there! She just did not know what to think. She is 6 years old and this whole baby in the belly thing is amazing to her. She asked many questions before coming to the appointment, for example “will the baby talk to me?” The best part of my whole appointment was when I was making my next appointment, she stood next to me and asked…. “if the baby wants a piece of gum, do you just swallow some?” Connie and I just looked at each other with without laughing I said, “hmmm, I don’t really know, we should have asked the doctor!” It was so adorable to see how her little brain thinks. She just has so many questions and she is trying to put it all together. Hailey will be so good with this baby…she loves it already!!!

Here is a picture of Hailey and me from our wedding...

I have scheduled my next appointment for the 1st week in February, after this appointment I will be on my every 2 week appointment plan. This week I also scheduled our baby classes, we go every Monday for 4 weeks. Then the last week in March we go to the breastfeeding class…I am sure Pat is thrilled about that one! Another accomplishment this week is that we are finally registered!! This was a process for both of us! We don’t quite know where everything is going to fit! You just don’t realize how much a baby needs!! Wow!! 1st we went to BabiesRUs in Minnesota Pat and his mom were definitely handy with the scanner!! Then yesterday we went to Target to finish up the registry…Pat was scanning everything in site, I came home and updated it online!! Haha.

Well, the Packers play today….good luck to them! Happy Playoff weekend!! Hope we can watch them next weekend too!! Hope everyone has a great week!!
