Madison Lynn Sax

IT’S A GIRL!!!!!!
Wow, what a weekend for us :)

Saturday morning (4/24/10) we woke up at 7am (for some unknown reason)…we got up and re-arranged the living room. Took ALL of the furniture out, took out the old rug, got a new rug, wiped the floors down, vacuumed…it was quite the project and obviously a lot for me…since I went into labor a few hours later….
Then, we showered and went to Durand…they were having their “big” thrift sales. We stopped at my manager’s house to check out her sale…while we were there we talked about the “Purple Panther” in Durand, it is a “dive” joint but I had heard they had awesome food. So, we left her house about 12 noon and ran to another friend’s house…we saw their new house and chatted for awhile. About 2pm, we left her house and headed towards the “Panther” Pat ordered a “Super Burger” I got a hamburger and we ordered some cheese curds! We ate all that food right up and headed back home about 2:15 or so….we were just talking about how we needed to go to my parents house to get the pack n play and the stroller and the rocking chair and how I wanted to stop at Gordy’s because pop is on sale…la, la, la….then I said “Pat- I think my water just broke!!” He said “Whatever, I don’t believe you, you are kidding!” Nope- I was not kidding….it was 2:20 and my water broke. I pulled over right away, put my sweatshirt under my butt and drove home. I called the MD from the car and he told me to go home, get my bags and head to the hospital. So, that is what we did…well with a few side stops! I went home, changed the laundry over, took a shower, Pat brought the baby dresser upstairs, cleaned the kitchen up a little bit, gave the dog dinner…you know the usual things before you GO INTO LABOR?! We also stopped by Kwik Trip because Pat needed a 12 pack of pop, since he would not let me go to Gordy’s!! haha- he was probably right.
So, we got to the ER about 4pm to get registered….headed up to room 342 and got me into a gown by 445 or so. I felt great, I was dilated to 3 when I got there and figured it would be awhile before anything would happen….my mom and sisters got there around 5 and Pat’s mom shortly followed….I still felt great! About 5ish (my times may be a little off) I was ready for a bath, she filled the tub for me and I sat there with the jets on for quite awhile….I was having contractions every 2-3 minutes apart…but still felt pretty good. I was in the tub and my mom was getting a little worried about me…she said that I needed to get checked…soon, my contractions were harder and closer together!!!
I was out of the tub by 6:15ish (once again, my times may be off a little) and I had to get a bag of IV in me before they would give me an epidural. I was out and the nurse checked me and I was dilated to 5 already!! Since I had to get my IV, I crawled onto the bed and they started me right away. She called the anesthesiologist and he was there by 7pm, when he got there, the nurse checked me again and I was at 9~ So, I went from 5-almost 10 in 45 minutes! WOW! That is impressive, if I say so myself  haha.
They gave me my epidural, but I am still convinced it was not 100% effective, but it did take the edge off! Dr. Khatib came in about 7:30 or so and I started to push. My mother in law Cheri, my sisters Betsy and Abby were all by the end of the bed…watching it 1st hand and my mom and Pat were up by my head telling me how “awesome” I was! It is so wonderful to have such great support! I think Pat told me I was a “rockstar” a few times…I have the best hubby ever!!! Our little bundle of joy, Madison Lynn was born at 8:42 pm, she weighed 6lbs 13 oz and was 20 ½ inches long. She is so perfect!!! It was definitely one of the best experiences of my WHOLE life and I would do everything again to get Maddie into this world!
Today is Tuesday, we are back at home now. The rest of the weekend went so fast, but it was so fun! We had a ton of visitors come up to meet Maddie…they all just loved holding and cuddling with her! Sunday night she slept for about 6 hrs…which was so awesome- we actually got some rest!!! We got up Monday morning and took our time at the hospital. They told me I could go home at anytime….we showered, ate breakfast, packed our room up, then ordered lunch, talked to the nurses and went home about 2:30pm. So, it was a nice relaxing day!!!
Well when we came home Bob was SO excited to see me…Pat’s mom and grandparents were here to welcome us home! It was so nice to show Maddie off some more…we are SO proud of the little peanut!!
I am sure that I could write another 5 pages about our home experience, but I won’t bore you anymore :) I have attached some pictures for you to enjoy!! I will try to update with pictures often…let’s see how busy I get!!!

Doctor Update

Went to the MD today--- I am 39 weeks pregnant! WOW!!!! Crazy!

The MD appt went well today…all is normal. She thinks I am dilated to two still…which is not much change from last week. The baby is head down and in the “ready, set, go” position!! I am measuring at 38 weeks and baby’s heartbeat was back down in the 140s. hmmmm, maybe it is a boy?? But last week is was back up in the 150s….so maybe it is a girl!! You never know~ but I am SO excited to find out what this little one is…eeeee! excited!!

I had my next appointment scheduled for next Wednesday the 28th (my due date) and my MD suggested that I move my appointment to Monday. She wants to see where I am at on Monday and we will talk about induction by the end of next week! She is afraid that this little person is going to get too big for my small pelvis :) Pat pretty much got really nervous at that point!! She told me to go home and do some jumping jacks to get this baby rolling…. So, I plan to walk some thrift sales this weekend and probably do some jumping jacks!! Haha.

I will definitely keep the blog updated…as I progress!!!

Almost Baby Time

Here is a quick update. I had my 38 week appointment today! Everything seems to be on track! She thinks that the baby is already 7lbs~ which I thought the baby was still really small..but I guess not!! WARNING: Sorry for the picture in your head…BUT, she did her “pelvic” exam and said “Oh, I feel the baby’s head” and I turned and looked at Pat and he said “WHAT?” and looked like he was going to pass out! It was quite hysterical. That means that this baby has already dropped, the head is very low and he/she will be coming soon!! Sooner than we think….I think!! Ahhhh!! Oh well, whatever happens, happens. I just better get my bag packed…TONIGHT!!

The nursery is one thing that I am a little worried about…..Pat is 100% done with his part…he took today off for the carpet guy to come and lay the carpet, WELL the carpet guy called this am and he was SICK! SO, now he will be coming on Sunday….hopefully! So, everything is ready to go into the nursery….but the nursery has NO carpet. Oh geez….ahhhh!! Like I said, OH WELL. Whatever happens, happens!!

Anyway….time to make something for dinner! Have a great night. I will update next week or maybe sooner! :)

Another Week Down….

Another crazy busy week down….a couple more to go!! ;)

The last week was a great one! I had my 37 week appointment and all is well. The heartbeat is now about 138 or so….it has gone down a little bit from all my other appointments. (which is OK, baby is just “settling” a little more). His/Her head is down and his/her feet are right in my ribs!!! Oh well, totally worth it the last couple weeks!

I still feel great! It is amazing to me that I have not had any issues at all! I am so fortunate for that!! Let’s hope labor goes well! I am all in to the “nesting” part again. I don’t know what got into me today…but I washed almost ALL the bibs, burp rags, clothes, blankets…geez. It is crazy!

The nursery is done, well almost. Pat is done with his projects. The carpet guy is coming this week to install the carpet…then we will be able to set up the crib, changing table, rocking chair and ALL the clothes will have a “place” to go!!!! I will definitely post pictures when it is put together!

Last Saturday I had my 2nd baby shower and it was a success! I had a fantastic time with all of Pat’s family and my friends! It was wonderful!! The food was amazing, the games were hilarious and of course the presents were the best!! I am so excited! I think we have everything (well maybe not) that we will need.I am sure when this baby comes I will be making my share of Target runs! :) Especially when I know if it is a boy or girl~ my baby will need pink or blue!!!

Here are some pictures of from the shower…..

Baby Time!!

Spring is here which means BABY TIME!!! On Tuesday 3/30/10 our friends Jacki and Bill had their 1st baby. William Michael was born: 10 lbs 11oz, 23 inches long! We are both SO happy for them and he is a doll!! I went to the hospital to see him and he is so cuddly, it makes me very excited for my own!!

Here is a pic of Billy and me :)

Well, I can officially say I am 9 months pregnant!!! I was 36 weeks on Wednesday…WOW! I can not believe in 1 month I will have a baby in my arms! It makes me smile so big! Even Pat is getting really excited~ he likes to talk to my belly and tell him/her to stop kicking me! It is really cute! I still feel great, I have had very few issues this whole pregnancy, which I am very fortunate for…let’s hope labor and delivery are the same! Yeah right, I think I am dreaming!! Ha-ha. We had our 36 week appt yesterday and all is well. The MD did an exam and said I am not really dilated yet (good thing for me) so he thinks I will be “right on time.” I am OK with that….a few more weeks to prepare! The baby’s heartbeat is still in the upper 140’s low 150’s….this has not changed much in the last 8 months.

Me at 36 weeks

Pat and I visited a day care yesterday also…we are not 100% sure what the plan is for daycare yet, but we did like the place we went to. So, only time will tell on that matter! The nursery is just about complete and so is the stairway/hallway. Pat has to call the carpet guys this week to see when they can come and lay it…then COMPLETE. I have been waiting to say that for awhile!! I am excited to get the crib set up, the changing table in the room, the rocking chair and all the cute onesies in the closet!! My mission this weekend is to find a girl and boy “outfit/sleeper” to take to the hospital with us. I want our little one to have either HOT pink or baby blue on when they come home!!! Oh yeah, I should probably pack a bag for myself and Pat too….

I have definitely been “nesting” the past couple weekends…wow, who knew I had it in me? I CLEANED our closet…I mean CLEANED it! Four bags of clothes will be donated and even some shoes too! WOW, I was very impressed with myself and I think Pat was too!! I also went thru ALL the baby “stuff” that we have gotten so far….organized the clothes, went thru the toys, put all of my “paperwork” from the doctor visits into a binder, bought some baby Dreft so I can wash the clothes….I feel the need to organize and clean! It is a crazy feeling, who knew that would happen to me?! ;) HA-HA! My next mission is when the nursery is done, I want to get everything into that room and organize!!!

My family (mom, dad, Betsy and Abby) have been in Washington DC this whole week for Spring Break (don’t you miss the whole week off in Spring?…that was a bonus of actually being in school) and we have had their dog, Fletcher. The nice thing about having Fletch around is that he keeps Bob company! They wrestle around and bite each other’s ears…it makes good entertainment for Pat and me! We do not have big Easter plans, my family comes back Sunday, so we will head over there for dinner and hear all about their trip…other than that, Pat will be working HARD on the hallway/stairway to get it done!!!

I start my appointments every week from here on out….so I go again next Wednesday. I am having my 2nd shower next weekend at Pat’s mom’s house! I am excited to see everyone! (Including Pat’s grandparents that we have not seen since Christmas!!) That will be a lot of fun!! I love the games…I am sure Cheri has some fun ones planned!

Well, this was a longer entry today…only because I have not updated it in a MONTH! Sorry about that….too busy nesting! :) Hope you have a wonderful Easter weekend and spend time with your family!
