Madison Lynn Sax

IT’S A GIRL!!!!!!
Wow, what a weekend for us :)

Saturday morning (4/24/10) we woke up at 7am (for some unknown reason)…we got up and re-arranged the living room. Took ALL of the furniture out, took out the old rug, got a new rug, wiped the floors down, vacuumed…it was quite the project and obviously a lot for me…since I went into labor a few hours later….
Then, we showered and went to Durand…they were having their “big” thrift sales. We stopped at my manager’s house to check out her sale…while we were there we talked about the “Purple Panther” in Durand, it is a “dive” joint but I had heard they had awesome food. So, we left her house about 12 noon and ran to another friend’s house…we saw their new house and chatted for awhile. About 2pm, we left her house and headed towards the “Panther” Pat ordered a “Super Burger” I got a hamburger and we ordered some cheese curds! We ate all that food right up and headed back home about 2:15 or so….we were just talking about how we needed to go to my parents house to get the pack n play and the stroller and the rocking chair and how I wanted to stop at Gordy’s because pop is on sale…la, la, la….then I said “Pat- I think my water just broke!!” He said “Whatever, I don’t believe you, you are kidding!” Nope- I was not kidding….it was 2:20 and my water broke. I pulled over right away, put my sweatshirt under my butt and drove home. I called the MD from the car and he told me to go home, get my bags and head to the hospital. So, that is what we did…well with a few side stops! I went home, changed the laundry over, took a shower, Pat brought the baby dresser upstairs, cleaned the kitchen up a little bit, gave the dog dinner…you know the usual things before you GO INTO LABOR?! We also stopped by Kwik Trip because Pat needed a 12 pack of pop, since he would not let me go to Gordy’s!! haha- he was probably right.
So, we got to the ER about 4pm to get registered….headed up to room 342 and got me into a gown by 445 or so. I felt great, I was dilated to 3 when I got there and figured it would be awhile before anything would happen….my mom and sisters got there around 5 and Pat’s mom shortly followed….I still felt great! About 5ish (my times may be a little off) I was ready for a bath, she filled the tub for me and I sat there with the jets on for quite awhile….I was having contractions every 2-3 minutes apart…but still felt pretty good. I was in the tub and my mom was getting a little worried about me…she said that I needed to get checked…soon, my contractions were harder and closer together!!!
I was out of the tub by 6:15ish (once again, my times may be off a little) and I had to get a bag of IV in me before they would give me an epidural. I was out and the nurse checked me and I was dilated to 5 already!! Since I had to get my IV, I crawled onto the bed and they started me right away. She called the anesthesiologist and he was there by 7pm, when he got there, the nurse checked me again and I was at 9~ So, I went from 5-almost 10 in 45 minutes! WOW! That is impressive, if I say so myself  haha.
They gave me my epidural, but I am still convinced it was not 100% effective, but it did take the edge off! Dr. Khatib came in about 7:30 or so and I started to push. My mother in law Cheri, my sisters Betsy and Abby were all by the end of the bed…watching it 1st hand and my mom and Pat were up by my head telling me how “awesome” I was! It is so wonderful to have such great support! I think Pat told me I was a “rockstar” a few times…I have the best hubby ever!!! Our little bundle of joy, Madison Lynn was born at 8:42 pm, she weighed 6lbs 13 oz and was 20 ½ inches long. She is so perfect!!! It was definitely one of the best experiences of my WHOLE life and I would do everything again to get Maddie into this world!
Today is Tuesday, we are back at home now. The rest of the weekend went so fast, but it was so fun! We had a ton of visitors come up to meet Maddie…they all just loved holding and cuddling with her! Sunday night she slept for about 6 hrs…which was so awesome- we actually got some rest!!! We got up Monday morning and took our time at the hospital. They told me I could go home at anytime….we showered, ate breakfast, packed our room up, then ordered lunch, talked to the nurses and went home about 2:30pm. So, it was a nice relaxing day!!!
Well when we came home Bob was SO excited to see me…Pat’s mom and grandparents were here to welcome us home! It was so nice to show Maddie off some more…we are SO proud of the little peanut!!
I am sure that I could write another 5 pages about our home experience, but I won’t bore you anymore :) I have attached some pictures for you to enjoy!! I will try to update with pictures often…let’s see how busy I get!!!
